What is Assisted Living for Young Adults?

Live in care is not just a service designed for older residents, with our team of assisted living carers trained in helping all those in need of either hands-on support or companionship (or both).

With a range of services which cover live in care for young adults, we are trained in supporting those with physical and mental challenges and disabilities – operating under the belief that every individual deserves the chance to live as independently as possible while still ensuring their safety and wellbeing is being nurtured and looked after on a daily basis.

So, what does assisted living for young adults involve and how does it support both young people and their families?

Our assisted living service

When you sign up for our assisted living service, a dedicated carer will be assigned from our roster of experienced professionals – moving in with the young adult or individual in need of care, and offering the kind of support which means that they are empowered to stay at home and retain some of their independence, a fact which often makes an immense difference to both their spirit and mental health.

Whether as part of our 24-hour assisted living service or under a respite agreement whereby the family are granted some time away from home while a carer steps in and takes over in their absence, our team of carers can undertake any tasks which helps and assist the individual in need. These include but are not limited to household chores, facilitating trips and visits out, managing feeding routines and meals, bathing, administering medication, and offering the kind of companionship that so many of our residents and clients crave.

Being a young person with mental or physical challenges in today’s world can be tough – our job is to make everyday a little bit easier.

The benefits of live in care for young adults

The benefits of assisted and live in care are wide ranging, and are often felt by both the individual in need of care and their family members.

Safe in the assurance that the individual is being cared for with the utmost professionalism and attention to detail, we often find that family members and friends are among the most receptive beneficiaries of our care programs and services.

For the individual or young adult, an assisted live in carer allows them to do more, offering the kind of experience which means a carer can facilitate more activities and oversee elements of their lifestyle that allow them to remain at home safely and comfortably. Best of all, a live in carer from Ivy Palmer brings the kind of knowledge and kindness that is often all the individual needs – a smiling face at the start and end of the day, and the knowledge that they matter as much as the next person.
